Booking

The accessible study room in Manchester Met Library can be booked by one person, for personal use for up to 2 hours with or without a support tutor, between the hours of 11.00am and 5.00pm.

Outside of these hours the room is available on a drop-in basis, for one person (with or without a support tutor), whenever the library is open.

Access to the room is by swipe card access for those with prior arranged access. If you require access, please speak to a member of the Disability Service.

Facilities

The accessible study room has three height adjustable workstations. Two PCs with specialist software, one iMac, and two A4 flatbed scanners. A range of extra kit is available in the cupboards, including high-contrast keyboards, joysticks and coloured overlays.

Desk lamps are situated next to PCs and overhead lights can be switched off or adjusted using the controls on the wall.

Air conditioning in the room can be adjusted for your comfort.

There are adjustable desktop chairs in the room.

  • NeoSpeech Kate and NeoSpeech Paul (text-to-speech software)
  • ZoomText 9.1 (screen magnifying software)
  • MindView
