Walk and talk Hulme (public event) 

Join researchers from Manchester Met for a walk around Hulme park and learn more about our work with Walking Mum’s and accessibility. As well as hearing insights from our research on advancing opportunities for women in sport.

Manchester Met’s Gender Staff Network are delighted to invite colleagues to an event to mark International Women’s Day,  featuring talks from Dr  Sarah Campbell, Senior Lecturer in Health and Education (Researcher of ‘Stories of Women, Work & Uncertain Futures’ + exhibition). As well as  Naheed Nazir, Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. 

Take part in a thought provoking Q&A and hang your IWD pledge on the ‘Equi-Tree’.

Health & wellbeing day (External public event)

Friday 8 March | 10am - 2pm | Moss Side Leisure Centre

A day of activities in support of mind and body, including a host of workshops and stalls. Stop by to find out more what’s on offer locally and learn more about different aspects of health and wellbeing. Stalls will include: 

  • Ahmadiyya Muslim women - ‘women in Islam’
  • Biffa - women’s careers in a male dominated industry
  • Martenscroft Nursery and Childrens Centre - sharing support for parents and young children
  • Greater Manchester Police - women in policing
  • Manchester Poetry Library - free inspirational poems and activities to inspire writing your own poem
  • Z-arts - sharing upcoming events and their work in Hulme

Building Bridges: Empowering Diversity & Overcoming Barriers to Inclusion (Staff) 

Monday 11 March | 6 - 8pm | Business School 

A collaboration between Manchester Met, She Leads for Legacy, and the Northwest Business Leadership Team. This event will delve into the topic of overcoming barriers to inclusion for Black women in the workplace.
