Why did you choose your course?

The course offers a unique curriculum that addresses every aspect of strategic marketing and prepares students for literally any marketing role. The fact that we got to work with real market insights and consumer trends and applied it to a Live Client Brief gave us the experience of working as a team in a collaborative environment, much like an actual organisation. The course mainly stresses on strategic aspects, but also includes creative and content-based execution. This prepares us for thinking about the long-term application of the strategies that we create.   

What professional and creative skills have you gained on the course?

Having worked as a graphic designer and copywriter, I possessed the creative skills necessary to execute my ideas for the assignments. However, I did learn about a lot of digital tools like Similar Web, SEM Rush and Answer The Public to build on my digital marketing skills. Besides, some of the main professional skills that I gained from the course were time management, presentation skills and analytical skills.  

How has the course helped prepare you for your graduate career?

Coming from a creative background I have always had briefs handed to me to execute. However, now I feel I am in the position to write briefs by working with insights and trends. This shall now help me to adapt to any industry and marketing role as I can not only work for creative agencies but also on the client’s side.

How have you been supported as a student at Manchester Met?

The student support at Manchester Met has been fantastic. I struggled for accommodation in Manchester as I arrived late. The university helped me in securing a place and also provided assistance when required. Overall, the mental wellbeing of students, especially international students, is given priority and the university does all that it can to make us feel more comfortable. The library at Manchester Met is one of its best features. We always have a space to work and study in peace.

Why would you recommend the course to future students?

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wishes to build a career in strategic and creative thinking. This course, although very intense, prepares students for real-world scenarios with multi-tasking becoming the new normal. Anyone who successfully completes this course will definitely be comfortable working in any marketing role and for any industry.
