The development of a leading-edge, digitally enhanced approach to education that leverages the University’s intellectual, physical, and digital assets lies at the heart of the Manchester Met educational experience.
We will continue to use and further develop digital technologies and practices to enhance teaching, learning and assessment, providing our students with personalisation, flexibility, and choice in what, where, when, and how they learn.
The framework for ensuring the coherence and effectiveness of this approach is provided by the Digitally Enhanced Teaching, Learning and Assessment (DELTA) strategy. The strategy empowers our educators to support the effective use of educational technologies in ways that deliver benefits for student learning and outcomes.
Our strategic approach
Through DELTA we are:
- Embedding digital innovation, inclusivity, flexibility and accessibility into curriculum design so that every programme comprises both physical and virtual elements that work together seamlessly.
- Maximising the use of our virtual learning environment to ensure that all modules articulate a core learning pathway with a defined minimum baseline in their digital offer.
- Championing the development of digital skills so that students can take full advantage of their learning experiences and develop their digital capabilities.
- Developing and further utilising learner analytics to personalise and support the student experience and to target necessary interventions to support students where required.
- Sustaining our investment in our teaching and study spaces to ensure that they are equipped with technology that is accessible, flexible, and able to support independent and collaborative learning.
- Working together with our students to ensure all students have access to the technologies necessary to exploit our digital learning offer.
