My profile
Biography
I am print and broadcast journalist passionate that the next generation have the technical and editorial skills to tell great and important stories.
I have a background in radio, having worked for BBC Radio 4 for many years producing programmes including “The Choice” with Michael Buerk, “Hardeep’s Sunday Lunch”, and “Sunday”, Radio 4’s religious and ethical current affairs programme with Edward Stourton. I was northern producer for “You and Yours” for many years while other credits include “Woman’s Hour”, “Front Row” , “Belief” on radio 3 with Joan Bakewell and a variety of documentaries for radios 2 and 4. Previously I was news editor at Radio Manchester ( GMR) and producer/reporter at BBC Wales .
I began my journalistic career at the North Wales Weekly News where I became news editor and also worked at the Liverpool Daily Post.
I have taught broadcast journalism to under and post graduates at the universities of Salford and Sheffield
and been a judge at for the Sony Radio Academy awards ( the radio Oscars) and mental health charity “Mind” media awards.
I am a trustee for High Peak Community Arts and live at the edge of the Peak District with my inventor husband and two daughters.
