Tram
Manchester is well connected by a tram service (Metrolink) that offers a convenient way of navigating the city. Trams typically run every 12 minutes, or every 6 minutes in peak times depending on the line.
Metrolink operates a zone system, so you’ll need to know the zones you’re travelling in and make sure you purchase the correct ticket prior to boarding. Contactless payments are available.
For a map of the network, prices and timetables, visit Transport for Greater Manchester.
Bicycle
Oxford Road, which links our campus to the city centre, features separate cycle paths to help make it safe and quicker for cyclists to get around town. For a list of cycle routes throughout Manchester, visit the TfGM cycle paths page.
We support an active cycle culture on and around campus. That’s why we offer our students the chance to hire bikes and safety equipment through our MyMetCycle hire scheme. This lets students hire bikes throughout term for as little as £2.38 per week.
