How does transferring work?
Transferring is the process of moving from one university to another to complete your undergraduate degree.
There are many reasons why you might choose to transfer to a different university. Maybe your course didn’t meet your expectations, or your circumstances have changed and you want to move closer to home.
Transferring to Manchester Met
We consider students who would like to transfer from another university into Year 2 or 3 of most full-time undergraduate degrees here at Manchester Met.
Where a transfer is possible, an admissions tutor will consider your application. You are required to have successfully completed sufficient study in a subject close to the degree you would like to study with us.
We will assess your application to see how closely your previous study matches the degree at Manchester Met. You’ll need to show you have the subject knowledge and academic skills to progress onto Year 2 or 3 of your chosen degree.

UCAS application
To be considered for a transfer, the first thing you’ll need to do is complete a new UCAS application.
You’ll need to complete the relevant section of the online application which indicates your point of entry at Year 2 or 3. You may wish to explain your reasons for applying for a transfer in your personal statement.
We are not able to comment on your potential outcome until you submit your application. This is because we look at other factors in our decision-making process such as your personal statement, reference, and previous academic performance.
