A university degree can be the first step on your career journey. It can help you build essential skills and experience, as well as professional qualifications, in some cases.

Choosing a course can be much easier if you already know what career you want to pursue after university. But there are still questions you need to ask yourself about what and where to study:

  • Does the course have links with industry? Will I be able to get practical experience?
  • Is the course accredited by the relevant professional bodies?
  • What percentage of students go on to find work in their chosen sector?
  • Do the teachers have relevant professional experience?
  • What are the teaching facilities like?

Manchester Met offers a wide range of vocational courses, in everything from fashion to nursing degrees, teacher training courses, and law degrees - and we have strong links to industry.

For example, every new IVF scientist trained in the UK will have been trained at Manchester Met, while our Business School has the ‘triple crown’ of accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

We also have a strong record in helping our graduates to find employment, and our students can access support from our careers service at any point in their working life.
