At Manchester Metropolitan University we recognise the challenges faced by those who have spent time in care, and provide support to help you succeed in your educational journey.

We are committed to helping care experienced young people access Higher Education, and provide tailored support throughout your time with us to help you succeed.
With targeted pre-entry support and advice, and our dedicated Inclusion Team providing a single point of contact throughout your journey, we will be here to make sure you can access support as and when you need it.

We work collaboratively with other institutions across Greater Manchester to provide a range of activities for care experienced young people
Uni & Me: A Guide for Estranged Learners - GM Higher
In addition we have dedicated resources and presentations and can facilitate visits to the university to meet current students and find out more about the support we can offer.

Transition and on-course support
Our Inclusion service provide a single point of contact for Care Leavers as they progress into and through Manchester Met. They will help ensure you get all the support you need, and help you make the most of your university experience.

Financial Support
Care Leavers are a priority group for financial support, with a Care Leaver bursary of £1000 per year available to eligible students. In addition the team are able to support with any issues around Student Finance and can support you in accessing the funding you require.

Accommodation
Our accommodation office will prioritise Care Leavers for University accommodation, and can support with deposits if you are struggling. They can also provide accommodation 365 days per year for students that need it, ensuring support is available when needed.
