There are two options for international students who want to experience studying at Manchester Metropolitan. You can apply for our student exchange programme through your home university, or apply independently for our study abroad programme.
Exchange students
Firstly, you should contact your university’s study abroad office. They will be able to tell you whether your university has an exchange agreement with Manchester Metropolitan and whether you can do an exchange with us.
To study at Manchester Metropolitan, you must be nominated by your home university. This means that your university must select you, and tell us that you wish to study at Manchester Metropolitan for the semester or a full year.
We will then email you your application instructions. This includes a link to our direct application portal, where you will be asked to fill in your details.
You will also need to supply the following supporting information:
- Your current academic transcript in English
- A copy of photo identification, eg passport or national identity card
-
If you require a Student visa and English is not your first language, please provide evidence of your proficiency in English. Please see our University’s English language requirements for more information.
-
If you are applying for a course in the School of Art, you will need to provide a digital portfolio.
If you require a Student visa to study at Manchester Metropolitan, you will need to familiarise yourself with the visa application process. Please see our University’s visas and immigration guidance for further information.
Study abroad students
If you cannot study at Manchester Metropolitan as an exchange student through your university, you can apply independently for our study abroad programme.
