choosing your modules

Once you have been officially accepted to study at Manchester Metropolitan University, we will send you information about which modules you can choose to study with us.

The number of modules you pick will depend on how much time you are spending at Manchester Met. Our academic structure is based on credits. One credit represents an hour of study, and one module will be worth 15 - 30 credits. The study arrangements will be different for different courses, and can include a mix of lectures, tutorials. seminars and self-study. One year of full-time study is worth 120 credits.

Module options

You can search for your subject area in our course search to discover the modules we offer. The ‘course details’ tab will let you select a year of study, and you can select ‘read more about this year of study’ to view the module options. Please note, that modules shown on this webpage are subject to change and may not all be available to exchange students.

Please note:

  • Uniwide Languages: All Exchange and Study Abroad students have the option of joining a Uniwide Languages class after arrival. Classes are free if they are part of your full-time study load. However, you have to pay the fee if you take a Uniwide class in addition to a full-time study load.
  • Erasmus students: If you are studying with us from one of our Erasmus partner universities you will need to select modules from your host department, which is the department specified on the exchange agreement.
  • Worldwide Exchange and Study Abroad students: To minimise the possibility of timetable clashes, it is recommended that you select modules from a maximum of two different departments and that you avoid choosing modules cross-faculty.
