Biography
I am a Lecturer in the Hospitality Team and I have 24 years experience in the hospitality industry, working in 4 and 5 star hotels in the UK, Ireland, Seychelles and Abu Dhabi. I have worked across many different departments within a hotel and on different levels. I have managed small to large teams and have been part of mentor programmes with Marriott, Hilton and Champneys, where I have mentored colleagues looking to move up to the next level in their career. I have also worked as a client manager for a travel management company which gave me an insight into the tourism sector and travel.
I have worked with the hospitality team for 9 years as a guest lecturer and helped co-ordinate work shops and hotel show rounds and I joined the team in September 2022.
I have a passion for developing the future of hospitality and enjoy teaching the students and working together with the OTEHM team.
Interests and expertise
I am interested in the new developments in technology within the hospitality industry, also the advancements of sustainability projects within hotels.

Teaching
I teach on the Sales and Marketing, management, leadership, technology and digital hospitality units. My classes are very interactive as I like to have as much student participation as possible and also to open up discussions around relevant topics.
I also like to draw from my personal work experience and share examples of real life situations.
For my units I try to involve industry as much as possible, whether this is taking the students out to visit a hotel or having a guest lecturer coming in to present to the students.
I make myself available to the students for extra help and guidance where needed.

Client Manager - Corporate Travel Management
Looking after corporate clients that spent over £5 Million per year on travel, ensuring that they received an ROI by being with us and giving recommendations for travelling more sustainably.
I was also part of the Green Team - We focused on sustainable initiatives for the company.
June 2018 - October 2021
Director of Sales - Mottram Hall - 4 star resort in Cheshire.
Looking after the proactive and reactive sales team and also the revenue and reservations team. I also managed the top accounts and was responsible for the sales and marketing budget and creating the marketing plan for the hotel.
I was also part of the training and development team for the company and a mentor on the mentor programme.

Looking after the proactive and reactive sales team. Creating the marketing plan and being responsible for the sales and marketing budget.
