University co-ordinator for UN Academic Impact Initiative
My profile
Biography
I am the Impact and Engagement Manager for the Faculty of Business and Law and was responsible for writing and co-writing our impact case studies for REF 2021. As a result we are now ranked 17th out of 108 business schools for impact.
My role primarily involves developing and embedding impact activities in order to maximise researcher engagement with non-academic audiences and research users; basically making real change happen in the real world! I work with academics to drive research impact and raise the quality and visibility of the University’s research, including development activity towards current and future Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions.
I am also co-lead for the University’s policy unit, MetroPolis and University Co-ordinator for the UN Academic Impact Network and the annual ESRC Festival of Social Science. I am an experienced impact mentor and have worked with colleagues across the UK as part of NESTA’s CAPE initiative around building connections between academics and policymakers.
