My profile

Biography

I joined the School of Nursing and Public Health in April 2021 as a Quantitative Research Associate on the ‘HALT’ project (Homicide Abuse Learning Together). I am now a Senior Lecturer in Gender-Based Violence, responsible for all aspects of quantitative research within the Gender-Based Violence and Abuse Research Team in the School of Nursing and Public Health, in addition to delivering and developing course content related to gender-based violence and research methods.

My research interests include all forms of gender-based violence and harm, with specific expertise in child-to-parent violence/abuse and domestic homicide. I am a mixed methods, intersectional researcher with over 10 years experience across the academic, statutory and VCSO sectors. I have extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods, including research involving case file analysis, document analysis, in-depth interviews with young people, outcome and process evaluations, and rapid reviews. Most recently, I have led on the quantitative analysis of domestic homicide review recommendations for the Domestic Abuse Commissioner to inform the development of a national ‘Domestic Homicide Oversight Mechanism’.

I peer review for a range of journals including the Journal of Family Violence and am a member of the ESRC Peer Review College. I am also a member of the Institute for Children’s Futures and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
