Profile
I am a senior lecturer in economics at the Manchester Metropolitan Business School. I hold a Ph.D. in economics from the Leeds University Business School, a MSc and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Bamberg.
I am a pluralist Macroeconomist interested in economic and financial crises and more recently the polycrisis. My research aims to establish an improved Minsky – inspired theory linked to complexity sciences and an overhaul of methodology (mainstream and heterodox) with regards to modeling crisis episodes of capitalist economies and capitalism as a system more generally. More recently my research has expanded into the field of fintech, cryptocurrencies, and especially CBDCs with an emphasis on implications for overall stability, governance, and regulation.
I am a member of the Association for Heterodox Economics committee and various other academic organizations including the Post Keynesian Study Group (PKSG) and the Reteaching Economics Network.
