Prior to joining the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, I held academic positions at the University of Salford (Manchester, UK), De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), the University of Greenwich (London, UK), and Ural Federal University (Ekaterinburg, Russia), where I taught various undergraduate and postgraduate modules. I am a Certified Management and Business Educator, accredited by the Chartered Association of Business Schools. My professional background encompasses extensive experience across multiple industry sectors, including banking, maritime transport, investor relations, construction, and public services. I have also conducted consultancy projects for governmental and private organisations in the UK and Russia.

I regularly participate in international conferences and chair sessions at prestigious events, including the Regional Studies Association, the Association of International Business, Sunbelt, the International Council for Central and East European Studies, and the Aleksanteri Conference, among others. Additionally, I serve as the economics stream organiser for the British Association for Slavonic & East European Studies conference. My academic contributions extend to peer-reviewing articles for esteemed journals such as the European Management Journal, the Journal of Regional Studies, Studies in Comparative International Development, Post-Communist Economies, Asia Europe Journal, Voprosy Ekonomiki, and the Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity.
