Biography
Dr Nicola Middlebrook is a senior lecturer in physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University. Nicola is a qualified MSK physiotherapist, with professional membership of the Health and Care Professions Council [HCPC] and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy [CSP]. She is a Fellow of Advance HE (formally Higher Education Academy).
Interests and expertise
I am musculoskeletal physiotherapist by background. My research interests include musculoskeletal trauma, pain trajectory and recovery. I am interested in understanding the patient perspective and what is important to them during their recovery process.
Teaching
I teach on undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy courses on a range of units including musculoskeletal units, research methods and dissertations.
I supervise Masters students dissertations for the MSc Advanced Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Reg) courses.
Supervision
I am interested in supervising doctoral research students in the following areas: Musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pain and recovery and musculoskeletal trauma. If you are interested in studying in any of these areas please contact me.
