Biography

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Mandu is a Senior Lecturer on the MPH Global Health Programme at Manchester Metropolitan University. Dr Mandu received a BSc in Medical Physiology from the University of Port Harcourt and an MPH in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health from the University of Ibadan, both in Nigeria. Dr. Mandu also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) from Manchester Metropolitan University. Dr. Mandu received her Doctoral Degree in Public Health and Epidemiology, with a specialisation in Maternal and Child Health, from the University of Wolverhampton.

Her research interests and career focus on improving the health and well-being of mothers and children through designing interventions that address components of health systems, community, and individual factors to improve health outcomes, especially in populations with the greatest need. Dr Mandu is also interested in Healthcare in low and middle-income countries, Health Inequalities, Social Epidemiology, Sexual and Reproductive health, Global Health, and Non-communicable Diseases. Her research portfolio employs mixed methods. Her teaching focuses on Evidence-based Global Public Health and Health Promotion.

Dr Mandu is currently accepting PhD students.
