Biography

Dr Maksym Koghut, also known as Max, is a Lecturer in Business Information Systems at the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Max holds a PhD in Management from the University of Kent. His educational background also includes a BA in Business Information Management from the University of Huddersfield, a BA in Financial Management from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Cherkassy Engineering and Technological Institute. He was a recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarship at both Huddersfield Business School and Kent Business School, and the Strategic Planning Society Prize for the Best Student in Strategy at Huddersfield Business School.

Max has more than 10 years of top-managerial experience of founding and running various companies in diverse industries including Manufacturing, Services, Transport, and IT.

Before joining MMU Business School in 2022, Max led Strategic Management MBA and International Business Strategy MSc modules at Coventry University London. Prior to that, he led and taught modules such as Strategic Portfolio Management MSc, Digital Information Systems HDA & BSc, Managing Innovation in Contemporary Business BSc, Technology-driven Business Innovations BSc, Corporate & Business Strategy HDA, and Entrepreneurship BSc at Kent Business School. Before that, Max taught E-commerce and Digital & Social Media Marketing modules at Huddersfield Business School.

Research and Consultancy

Max’s research interests are at the intersection of organisational management and new information technologies. His latest works are focused on the social, organisational, and innovation implications of autonomous technologies such as Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

I enjoy teaching and am engaged in teaching Business School units in:

  • Digital Technology in Business & Society (Level 4, apprentices) 

Supervision

I supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and apprentice students in dissertations and projects in all aspects related to Business and Information Technologies.

PhD SUPERVISION: I have currently capacity to supervise PGR students in the areas of Blockchain technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their implications for business and society.
