Biography

Dr Kim Heyes is a Community Psychologist in the School of Nursing and Public Health. She has worked at Man Met since 2012. Her work focuses on societal intersections and inequalities in health research. Dr Heyes is also an advocate for co-production within research, publishing widely on the topic alongside other authors with lived experience. Her research is often used to influence policy change, most recently for the Children’s Social Care Strategy and the Domestic Homicide Oversight Mechanism. 

Dr Heyes conducts evaluations of health inequities, and is currently Principal Investigator on evaluations for minoritisation and hypertension, and asthma in children and young people in North Manchester. She is also the lead investigator for a YEF funded project on Serious Youth Violence in Schools.
