Research outputs

My research explores the impact of social determinants on health intentions and health-related lifestyle choices, with a particular focus on how social identity influences responses to social norms regarding dietary behaviour and physical activity in adults. I am investigating the key pathways: the role of social influences such as norms and identity on healthy/unhealthy eating, including correcting misperceived norms and the potential for social norm-based interventions that consider the strength of identification. I am also interested in how individual differences influence the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation on eating behaviour, particularly in the context of web-based programmes. Other focus areas include the mental health implications of Mukbang eating behaviours and the promotion of physical activity.
