My profile

Biography

I am the Head of Social Work based in the Social Care and Social Work Dept. As a qualified, registered social worker, I have a wealth of social work practice experience, including working as a senior manager with responsibility for a number of service areas including child safeguarding, child in need, family support and assessed contact arrangements. I have also undertaken specialist work investigating allegations made against professionals. I have worked at Manchester Met since 2013.

My areas of teaching are varied and cover most of the social work curriculum. I have a particular interest and expertise in the law, statutory and legal interventions and I have taught this across a number of prequalifying courses since 2007.
