Words of wisdom

Sociology does not provide quick solutions; it provides you with various perspectives on human life. Studying Sociology doesn’t mean you can change the world on your own.

Teaching

How I’ll teach you

I believe in active learning, and favour interactive classrooms. Teaching is more than lecturing to students. It involves engaging students in their own learning by making concepts, theories and empirical materials relatable to their own lives. Sociology emphasises critical thinking and real world application of concepts.
My teaching approach is interactive, experiential and engaging.

Why study…

Sociology opens up a new world to us. It enables us to make sense of how people behaved in the past as well as making sense of the present and the future.  The discipline covers a wide variety of topics. Studying Sociology is not just about studying Britain, it also deals with global issues and other cultures and societies.  Understanding humans and their experiences helps us to change our lives and lives of the others. It also helps those experiencing massive social changes to make sense of the world around them.
