Study with us
Find out how you can join us at the Future Economies Research Centre - as an undergraduate or postgraduate student, collaborating academic or as part of your executive education.
About
We support career and learning development for students at all levels, from undergraduate students and early career researchers to experienced academics and practitioners.
Undergraduate internships
We offer opportunities to second- and third-year undergraduates to work on some of our research projects.
These in-demand internships provide practical experience of professional research, as well as building sought-after skills that help distinguish new graduates in the job market.
You can register your interest through the University’s Rise programme. Places are limited so you will need to complete a selection exercise if you apply.
Postgraduate study and research
We run taught masters-level courses as well as providing opportunities for postgraduate research study.
At Manchester Met, you can study towards these qualifications:
-
PhD
-
Professional doctorate
-
MPhil

We advertise funded scholarships - sometimes called studentships - throughout the year.
You can register for notifications when applications open for new scholarships.
We also accept proposals for self-funded study, and are always willing to support candidates preparing applications for external funding.
Professional development
Our research expertise means we are able to offer postgraduate-level courses for experienced professionals who want to build their skills in increasingly important areas such as data analytics and policy analysis.
We run bespoke executive education programmes for large employers such as the Treasury and Revenue & Customs - working closely with small group on a tailored curriculum.
As part of our commitment to the government’s ‘levelling up’ agenda, we’re also exploring new options for postgraduate study built around the needs of working professionals.
We also offer training seminars, giving short introductions to a range of topics.
Academic collaboration
We welcome opportunities to work with academics from other institutions, and can offer:
-
distance collaborations
-
short- and long-term research fellowships
-
visiting professorships
