About our research
The Manchester Centre for Economic Policy encompasses research on economic policy, and research which contributes to economic policy.
Our research draws upon insights from a range of fields, including political economy, political science, public policy, applied economics, heterodox/pluralist economics, and geography.
The centre seeks to ask the big questions about capitalism and the state at the local, national and international levels, investigating issues such as:
- inequality
- climate change
- Brexit
- economic stagnation
- financialisation
- political cleavages and disaffection
We also work with partner organisations and policymakers to design and share solutions to these challenges.
Our members include world-leading scholars of economic policy, as well as colleagues with vast experience as policy practitioners.
