How to find us

Manchester Poetry Library is located in the heart of the city on Oxford Road, on the Manchester Metropolitan University campus. To find us head to Grosvenor East (Arts & Humanities), which is on the Corner of Oxford Road and Cavendish Street at M15 6BG.

The best entrance for visitors is the portico column entrance on the All Saints Park side of the building, or through The Grove café.

The Poetry Library is straight ahead of you with the main reception and lifts on your left.

From Oxford Road, you can also enter using the rear entrance to the building between the Geoffrey Manton Building and Grosvenor East.

Public spaces on the ground floor include a generous atrium and foyer space for exhibitions and events; and a cafe, bar and restaurant.

For information about travelling to the University visit the travel pages.

Accessibility

Manchester Poetry Library offers various access provisions to ensure that you have the best experience possible during your visit.

  • The Poetry Library space is wheelchair accessible and situated on the ground floor.
  • Level access for all entrances is provided to both the front and rear of Grosvenor East.
  • Level access and step free circulation is provided throughout Grosvenor East.
  • Accessible toilets are situated on the ground floor close to the Poetry Library entrance. These toilets are also gender-neutral, single occupancy cubicles.
  • Lighting and lighting levels have been designed to help visitors, especially those with sensory impairments

We host events online, in the library space, and with partners in many other venues across the city. Please refer to individual event information for details and any BSL (British Sign Language) or caption subtitled or audio described events.

More extensive access information is available on request. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call 0161 247 6106 and we’ll be happy to support you.
