A night celebrating the poetry and music of David Berman.

Poet, singer-songwriter and Silver Jews founder / frontman, David Berman, published just one collection of poetry before his death in 2019. Actual Air was published in 1999, and has since become a cult and deeply influential poetry collection, dealing with themes of isolation, memory, banality and malaise in middle America.

Poets Zaffar Kunial, Caleb Nichols, Lenni Sanders, and lyricist Paul Rafferty, will be performing readings of Berman’s poetry and their own work. Singer-songwriter Francis Lung will be performing Silver Jews covers to conclude the night.
