About me

About my career

Studying overseas and training at a well-equipped institution has always been my dream. As I researched schools to apply to, the location and course outlines were important factors for me. Manchester Metropolitan University stood out as the perfect choice.

After obtaining my HCPC registration in September 2023, I began actively applying for NHS jobs via the Trac portal. I am now a Biomedical Scientist at one of the NHS trusts . My responsibilities include assisting with stem cell culture and ensuring compliance with JACIE and MHRA standards. My project at Manchester Met focused on cell culture, PCR, and flow cytometry, and this has given me a major boost in my career and professional development.

Since graduating, I have completed several online CPD courses with PathLab and this has also helped my professional journey.

My top tip for students

Watch educational videos on YouTube and always seek support from your peers and seniors. Remember, learning never ends.

I’m inspired by

My supervisors, Dr Ayman Mahmoud and Dr Godwin Akuodor. Their patience and dedication to academic growth have taught me to always strive for excellence.

Why I love Manchester Met

Manchester Met rekindled my love for further academics and research.
