What is your enterprise?

I am currently studying Graphic Design. I wanted to progress my career path by creating my own design website to help present myself (online portfolio) and also to sell my artwork in the very near future. Having the ability to do this will kick start my freelancing career and help me branch out to other companies. I will able to easily put my work on this one workspace and tell employers to go onto the website if they request a portfolio from me. I feel like this would be so beneficial as having my own website will help me stand out against others.

Why did you apply for the Flash Fund?

I applied for the flash fund because as a student I am always budgeting and trying to make ends meet on any purchases I make. I feel as though I find it difficult to splash out on myself or projects of my own that I want to complete. To create my own website does require funding. The money that I received enabled me to begin my freelancing business into the world of design. 

What has the funding allowed you to do?

I am now able to start reaching out to the world through social media. I can now make a name for myself and tell other people or business’s to come directly to me. I wanted to create a website where employers will be able to see my portfolio. I wanted it to look sleek and professional. The free websites was just not cutting that and it was too basic with many restrictions. Paying money to create a website makes a huge difference and even paying for images from abode stock instead of the free ones. 

Would you recommend others apply for the Flash Fund?

I would recommend many people to apply for the flash fund because there could be many students with fantastic ideas which are just not able to create them due to not having the funds to do so. For example students with a very low student loan. Students from different backgrounds who enable them to work full time to earn the money too create it themselves. 

Being a student myself, who is really struggling with money at the moment this has been so beneficial to me and has helped me start something that I hope to be amazing!
