Why did you apply for the Flash Fund?

I wanted to raise some capital to start to order some stock I have designed with a wholesale abroad and pay for my website to go live and packaging. Although the fund does not cover the full costs I need it will enable me to start with some limited stock and may help me progress into having a full makeup line and a successful business in 2023.

What has the funding allowed you to do?

The funding has allowed me to order stock. This has allowed me to finish creating my website go live and order some start up stock I needed - I have ordered samples back at the beginning of the year and created a logo and am very pleased with the product quality. I can now purchase and design the actual branded makeup and beginning to sell my brand online advertising using Instagram business ads which is chargeable and also using TikTok.

Would you recommend others apply for the Flash Fund?

Yes it is a great start up help to encourage students and final years like myself who are a single parent to be able to have motivation to start their business as this is my end goal when leaving university to create a makeup brand. It nice to have support from university as a student with a business idea.
