The Publication Scheme
About our publication scheme

What is a Publication Scheme
Public authorities (including Universities) are required to maintain a Publication Scheme under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The Scheme is a guide to the information the authority publishes (or intends to publish). The purpose of the Scheme is to ensure that certain types of information are easily and routinely made available to the public.
The Manchester Metropolitan University has adopted the ICO (Information Commissioner’s) Model Publication Scheme for Higher Education Institutions and is committed to publishing the information it describes. The Scheme sets out the classes or categories of information published, sets out how to access information and whether or not charges will be made. The Scheme covers seven classes of information (set out under Publication Scheme below). It provides a guide to the information published by the University and is not a definitive list. Further University information can be found via the search tools on the University’s homepage, or by browsing the relevant University webpages.
Information available on the University’s Web site is free of charge. The University may charge a fee for paper copies of material. Where requests are made for substantial amounts of information a charge will be made to cover the cost of photocopying and postage.
