Confirmation
During Confirmation, universities make final decisions on the conditional offers made to applicants earlier in the year.
If you have received a conditional offer from us, and are unsure what to do on results day, use this guide to help you.
Once you have your results, the first thing to do is to check UCAS Hub to see if your place has been confirmed. If you’re not sure whether your place has been confirmed, you can phone our friendly Confirmation helpline on +44 (0)161 247 2931 from Thursday 17 August.
- Thursday 17 August: 8:00am — 8:00pm
- Friday 18 August: 8:00am — 6:00pm
- Saturday 19 August: 10:00am — 4:00pm
- Monday 21 August onwards: 9:00am — 4:00pm
How do I know if my place at Manchester Met has been confirmed?
Once you’ve checked UCAS Hub, select the scenario below which best fits your situation for advice on what to do next.
-
UCAS Hub is showing my place with Manchester Met as confirmed
If UCAS Hub is showing the place you want as confirmed, congratulations!
You’ll receive a letter from us by email about what happens next soon.
-
UCAS Hub is not showing my place with Manchester Met as confirmed or unsuccessful
If UCAS Hub isn’t revealing the outcome of your application, please be patient. There could be several reasons for the delay.
If your offer is based on qualifications that UCAS cannot send to us, such as GCSEs, you’ll need to send scanned copies of your results as evidence to our admissions team.
If you don’t have this information or need help, please contact our Confirmation helpline on +44 (0)161 247 2931.
-
UCAS Hub is showing I have been unsuccessful with securing a place at Manchester Met
If UCAS Hub shows you have been unsuccessful, we’re sorry - this means we’re unable to offer you your chosen course at Manchester Metropolitan University this year.
You could check out our Clearing opportunities or contact our friendly team to find out what your options are on +44 (0)161 247 3000. Alternatively, your school or college may be able to offer you advice on what to do next.
Frequently asked questions
-
I’ve received my results but my offer is showing as conditional. Why?
There are several reasons why your offer could still be showing as conditional. If you have narrowly missed the conditions of your offer then our admissions team will be reviewing your application, and there will be a delay before we can make a final decision. If you are not sure why your place hasn’t been confirmed, please chat to one of our friendly advisers on the Confirmation helpline on +44 (0)161 247 2931. When you call, please have your UCAS Personal ID number handy.
We will confirm your place once we have received all your results and you have met all your offer conditions.
-
I have my results. Do I need to send copies to Manchester Met?
You don’t need to send your results if they are A-levels, BTECs, Welsh or Scottish Level 3 qualifications, or if you have an Access to HE Diploma. This is because UCAS typically send us your results directly.
However, if you have GCSEs or international qualifications, you’ll need to scan and email the copies of your certificates to the relevant admissions team.
To find out more about the results process, please visit the UCAS website.
-
My offer has changed to a different course. Why?
If you don’t meet the conditions of your offer, sometimes we offer an alternative course that we think is suitable. We may suggest a course in a similar subject area or a degree with a foundation year. If you’d like to chat with one of our friendly advisers, please call our Confirmation helpline on +44 (0)161 247 2931.
-
My place at Manchester Met has been confirmed, but I want to change courses. What should I do?
If your place at Manchester Met is confirmed, but you’d like to change courses, please check our Clearing vacancies for courses you’re interested in. If the course you’re interested in has vacancies, please call our friendly team on the Clearing helpline on +44 (0)161 247 3000. Please explain to the adviser that you’re already holding a place at Manchester Met and you’d like to change your course.
-
My place at Manchester Met has been confirmed, but now I want to study elsewhere. What should I do?
If your place at Manchester Met is confirmed, but you’d like to study elsewhere, you’ll need to check for Clearing vacancies at the university you wish to apply to. If there are vacancies, please make a Clearing enquiry with them to receive an informal offer. Once you have an informal offer, log into UCAS Hub, and click the ‘decline my place’ button on your homepage to release yourself into Clearing. UCAS will email you to confirm that you’re eligible for Clearing and then you can apply to the university of your choice.
-
I had an offer with Manchester Met but I’ve been unsuccessful. What are my options?
If Manchester Met was your firm choice but your application is unsuccessful, please check the status of your offer with your insurance choice to see if they’ve confirmed you. If not, or if you are interested in exploring alternative options at Manchester Met, you can search our Clearing vacancies for other courses that interest you.
-
Manchester Met was my insurance choice but my firm choice offer is now unconditional. Can I still come to Manchester Met?
If you hold an unconditional offer with your firm choice, your offer with Manchester Met no longer stands. However, if you wish to come to Manchester Met, please visit our Clearing website for any suitable vacancies. If there are vacancies on courses that interest you, please chat with our friendly team on the Clearing helpline on +44 (0)161 247 3000. If you meet the course criteria, it’s a good idea to request an informal offer before you release yourself from your university and into Clearing with UCAS.
-
How should I send you evidence of my qualifications?
We receive most Level 3 qualifications (A-levels and BTECs) directly from UCAS. However, if there are some qualifications we haven’t received, you can scan copies and email them to the admissions team.
