Biography

Dr. M. Claudia tom Dieck is a Reader in XR and Project Manager at the Creative AR VR Hub at Manchester Met. She is one of the founders and programme chair of the annual International XR-Metaverse Conference. She is extremely passionate about augmented, virtual and extended realities and their impact on societies; having published more than 80 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and book chapters. She has also co-edited six books for Springer, one of them being Springer’s most downloaded book in Business and Management in 2018. Over the years, she has led and managed a number of projects such as Manchester Art Gallery Google Glass; Manchester Jewish Museum AR (Heritage Lottery Funded); Renegade Fortress MR Fire Marshall Training (Innovation Voucher). The ARVR team at Man Met has received a number of best paper awards, including Best Paper Award in Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice in 2022; or the Emerald Literati Awards in 2018. We are looking for opportunities for future projects, research and funding applications in all areas of AR/VR and immersive tech.
