Make the most of your Third Term

Every undergraduate at Manchester Met gets the opportunity to customise their course with activities that add bonus credits to their degree.

Through our Third Term programme you’ll have the chance to get involved in a wide-range of experiences that will help you learn new skills.

You could:

  • complete an internship or other valuable work experience
  • develop a new skill like coding or learn a language
  • take part in groundbreaking research
  • join a mentoring scheme
  • study or volunteer abroad

We’ve got a catalogue of more than 1000 opportunities to choose from. By completing your activities in June and producing an assessment over the summer break, you’ll earn extra credits that could bump up your degree classification - as well as adding impressive depth to your CV.

Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award

The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award is an international programme that Manchester Met students can enroll in for free.

It’s been designed with employers to ensure new graduates have the digital skills that every modern workplace requires.

You’ll work towards industry-recognised awards by completing online modules, collecting badges for your achievements.

Similar to the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, you can progress through increasingly challenging levels from bronze for beginners to gold for the most accomplished undergraduates.

There's a lot more to getting a job after uni than just a degree alone. Employers more than ever are looking at what other skills, activities and experience you have. The main benefit of taking part in Futures Skills is that you get the opportunity to add more of these strings to your bow.
