My profile
Biography
In 2022, I joined Manchester Metropolitan University in the Faculty of Business and Law executive team. As the Faculty Head of International, my primary responsibility is to develop excellence internationally, creating an international culture and experience for all. As a triple-accredited Business School and International Law School, we build partnerships with other excellent Higher Education providers and businesses. We ensure our staff and students benefit from being part of an international community to achieve impact in education and research.
In addition to my role as Faculty Head of International, I work closely with colleagues in Accounting, Finance and Banking within the Business School. I continue to develop research within these specific areas of study and in the area of business education. I also hold Principal Fellowship with the HEA.
I help early and mid-career academics build their confidence and careers to maximise their impact to achieve our transforming lives strategy. I have held several senior management roles in academia, and externally I work with CABs, CIMA, and the EAA on various committees.

Interests and expertise
My research and interests are based on Management Accounting as a subject and pedagogy. I have published in the area of regulation, capital investment, the energy and banking industry and I am currently exploring the Craft Brewing sector. In the area of Business Education, I focus on the use of blended learning, improving self-efficacy and reducing attainment gaps.
Teaching
I have taught in the UK, France, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia. My main teaching specialisms are Management Accounting and Strategic Financial Management.
Supervision
I have supervised and examined PhDs in the area of Management Control, Management Accounting techniques and pedagogy in Accounting Education.
