About my career
I chose to study at Manchester Metropolitan University because of its strong reputation for business education and its triple accreditation (EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA). The UK, and Manchester in particular, offered a vibrant and diverse environment that I knew would enrich my learning experience and provide ample networking opportunities with professionals from around the world.
My first job after graduating was as a Sales Manager at a leading tech company. I secured this position through a combination of the skills and knowledge I gained during my MBA and the extensive network I built while studying at Manchester Met. The university’s career service was instrumental in helping me prepare for interviews and connect with potential employers.
Currently, I am a Digital Transformation Lead, focusing on customer retention and digital strategy. My main responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams to implement digital solutions, establishing trust with C-level executives, and ensuring recurring sales through innovative customer engagement strategies.
At Manchester Met, I gained a wide range of skills, including strategic thinking, leadership, and digital marketing. The skills I have used most in my career so far are leadership and strategic thinking, which have been crucial in driving digital transformation initiatives and leading successful teams. Moreover, I did a placement with a multinational corporation in their marketing department. This experience was invaluable as it provided practical insights into the industry and allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. I believe placements are essential for gaining hands-on experience and enhancing employability.
Since graduating, I have continued to develop my career through various professional development courses and certifications in digital marketing and project management. These additional qualifications have helped me stay current with industry trends and enhance my skill set.
